[KL] Expression Pedal for K2600

Hi group,


I have been trying to find what expression pedals will work with my K2600XS but am finding mixed opinions as to what will or will not work. I see the specs for the CC-1 (10K ohm linear pedal with TRS 1/4" input jack) but am finding conflicting information regarding other pedals that match and that do not match these specs.


Pedal Needs / Preferences:
Functionality is my top priority.
I play standing up.
Smaller than the CC-1 if possible.

I have a Boss FV-500H (for guitar)
and a Boss FV-500L (for keys).
These are volume pedals, but both
have a separate EXP output for
"expression".

Both are built like tanks and work
very well as both volume pedals,
and (using the exp output) work well
as CC control pedals for my Kurzweil
K2661.

The "L" in FV-500L stands for "low impedance"
and is for keyboards/synths.
The "H" version is for high impedance things
like guitars. Both of those indicators are
only relevant to using it as a volume pedal.
Either pedal works fine as an expression pedal.

There is a screw to adjust the resistance
of the mechanical movement-- which is nice
to have. Since you stand, you'll like that
it feels very easy to control and it will
hold up to brutal treatment.

Another vote here for the Boss 500L I’ve been using a pair of them for years for my Kurz PC2, then PC3 and also my Nord Electro. They’re a great heavy duty pedal with a good long throw and built to last.

Another vote for the Boss 500L. A real Swiss Army Knife, there.

I've also used Studiologic's expression pedal, which is manufactured by Fatar, and a match to the original Kurzweil pedal.


I also own a Mission Engineering EP-1. Built like a tank, even heavier than the Boss, closer in size to the Fatar. Mostly about looks and indestructibility. It has a shorter throw than most.


(Finally, all due respect, but I have also tried a Yamaha FC7, and it did NOT work with my K2600.)

I appreciate the suggestions and am going to take a look at the Boss, Studiologic and Studiologic pedals. I had read mixed reviews of the compatibility of the Yamaha, is there anything specific that needs to be done for Kurz to work with the FC7? Thanks again!

I think the mono output function on my K2661
has been inconsistent.

Sometimes I get a mono output,
sometimes I get only the left channel.

Both signals are always present in the
headphones out.

Is there any software setting that would
make this behave weirdly?

Or perhaps a dirty contact somehow
with the individual outs?
