[KL] PC3LE8 Starts Sending Controller Changes and Sound Stops

Shortly (10 to 60 seconds) after a normal start-up, while playing the keyboard with no problems, my PC3LE8 just starts sending controller changes–which I can see on the LCD screen as rapidly changing messages such as "Hi EQ Boost Knob1:50" then "Aux FX Wet/Dry...." As soon as these messages start on the screen, sound output ceases. The keyboard is generating these changes itself–I'm not touching any of these knobs/controllers. The "save" button lights up to indicate that the patch I'm using has been edited by these controller messages, so I don't think they're just phantom/bogus messages; I think the controllers are somehow being changed.

I've tried, all without success: panic, reloading the OS (2.26.21865), starting with a different patch, switching to a different patch. Occasionally, the keyboard will play normally for a session (an hour or two). And then the next 20 times it's turned on it will resort to this glitching problem.

Any thoughts on what might be going on here?

The keyboard has been perfectly maintained (no liquid/food spills, non-smoking environment, etc.) and is in excellent condition.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/help,

Rick
